Fulfillment

Today’s reading is Leviticus 23-24.

Every step of the way, the rituals and requirements of the Law point to Jesus Christ, which is why so much of the Law was abrogated in Him. He fulfilled it; to keep it would deny His work and His place. He is our Sabbath rest and leads us on to our eternal Sabbath rest. He is our Passover Lamb whose blood saves us from the wrath of God. He is the firstfruits from the dead. He is our harvest and the bringer of a harvest of righteousness within us. His resurrection was a clarion, trumpet call proclaiming the way for us, and His return will be at the final trumpet. He is our atonement. He tabernacled among us. He is the fulfillment, the goal, the end of the Law. Hang on to Him.

Tomorrow’s reading is Leviticus 25-26.

Passover

Today’s reading is Exodus 11-12.

In the Passover, Israel remembers when God killed the firstborn of Pharaoh and his people in order to deliver them from Egypt. In the Lord’s Supper, we remember when God allowed His Firstborn to die in order to deliver us from sin. Remember that this Sunday as you partake of the Supper and remember exactly how far the Father is willing to go to deliver us. Praise the Lord!

Tomorrow’s reading is Exodus 13-14.
