Today’s reading is Psalm 119:89-176.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
Think about what that means. God’s Word shines a light for where we need to walk. In other words, if God’s Word doesn’t shine the light in a certain direction, then going that direction is walking in darkness. Putting God in the beginning means making sure we only walk where His Word lights up the path. Every other path is the ditch where the blind the lead the blind.
Tomorrow’s reading is Psalms 120-127.
A Word for Our Kids
Hey kids, are you still being surprised by how much the psalmist talks about God’s Word in this psalm? I pray that you and I both grow to see God’s Word as this important. After all, as I shared with your parents, it is the light that shines the way for us. And while we may not be able to see every step between here and the presence of God in heaven, if we keep stepping only in the light it provides, we will end up in God’s presence. Praise the Lord and keep reading.
