Today’s reading is Psalm 119:1-88.

“With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments!”

That is an odd prayer request. Aren’t we just supposed to not wander from God’s commandments all on our own? Yet, here it is. Of course, this doesn’t mean we should wander away until the Lord miraculously pulls us back. But it does mean we rely on God, His strength, and His grace in order to keep God’s Word. Perhaps this would be a good prayer for you today.

Tomorrows’s reading is Psalm 119:89-176.

A Word for Our Kids

Hey kids, if there is one thing Psalm 119 teaches us it is how much we need God’s Word. I hope you pick up on it today and tomorrow. Every section of this psalm mentions God’s Word in one form or another. In fact, almost every couplet does so as well. Over and over again the Psalmist relies on God’s Word or calls God to keep His Word or explains how much he trusts God’s Word. That is why what we are doing on this blog is so important. We all need to be in God’s Word every day. Only then shall we not be put to shame (see vs. 6).
