Today’s reading is Psalms 117-118.
“It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.”
Dare I say it is better to trust in the Lord than to trust in Presidents. Every four years, major political parties act like their candidate is the Messiah and the other candidate is the devil. Please understand there is only one Savior and He doesn’t run for President. He’s already King. Certainly, if you have patriotic concern, vote for President. But never mix up national politics with true kingdom work. And never think everything is going to be destroyed because your candidate lost or be okay because your candidate one. God is still God in heaven and He is the one who takes care of us. Put your trust in Him above all others.
Tomorrows’s reading is Psalm 119:1-88.
A Word for Our Kids
Hey kids, wouldn’t it be cool to memorize an entire psalm? Can’t do it, you say? Why not try Psalm 117. It’s a great place to start:
“Praise the Lord, all nations!
Extol him, all peoples!
For great is his steadfast love toward us,
and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.
Praise the Lord!”
