Today’s reading is Proverbs 10-11.
“Whoever diligently seeks good seeks favor,
but evil comes to him who searches for it.”
There it is. We all end up with what we are looking for. The proverb is not saying only good things happen to people who are looking for good things and only evil things happen to those searching for evil. In any given moment, the one seeking good may experience evil (even Jesus experienced that). But, in the end, we all end up with what we were looking for. God won’t bring a judgment in eternity other than exactly what we were seeking throughout out lives. If you are diligently seeking Him, you will be with Him in eternity. But if there is something you are seeking more than Him, that is where you will be in eternity. So, what are you seeking today?
Tomorrow’s reading is Proverbs 12-13.
A Word for Our Kids
Hey kids, “where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety” (Proverbs 11:14). If you are like me, you so desperately want to prove yourself that you rarely seek advice. Don’t fall for that trap. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel as you grow up. You don’t have to discover everything out for yourself. That is a hard and unnecessary way to learn. Look for people who are where you want to be, then seek their counsel. That will likely begin with your parents. Don’t face life alone; seek advice and counsel of those who have walked your path before.
