Today’s reading is 2 Corinthians 5-6.

When God comes first, it changes how we look at people. Rather than regarding them according to the flesh, we regard them according to their spirit. It doesn’t matter if their flesh is black or white, male or female, American or Russian, Jewish or Gentile, well-dressed or poorly-dressed, on the contrasts could go. What matters is whether or not their spirit is in Christ. Are they a new creation or still an old creature? If they are a new creation, praise God and draw close. If not, get them the gospel. Nothing else really matters.

Monday’s reading is 2 Corinthians 7-8.

A Word for Our Kids

Hey kids, keep in mind what I told your parents. In our culture, you will hear so much about race, gender, class, education level, and other similar classifications. None of those matter. What matters is Christ and being in Him. Nothing else matters for anyone else. And nothing else matters for you. As you grow up, don’t take comfort in your race, gender, finances, clothes, possessions. There is only one place to take comfort…in Jesus Christ. Remember that as you grow up.
