Today’s reading is Psalms 10-14.

Have you ever had one of those days? Perhaps weeks? Maybe even years? “How long, Lord, will you let my life be like this?” You are not alone. Even the psalmists had those times. What did they do then? They turned even closer to the Lord, praying to Him, seeking Him, trusting in His steadfast love. They knew there was only one hope of salvation and it does no good to turn from Him just because He isn’t acting the way we want at the moment. Praise the Lord, He will save in His time.

Tomorrow’s reading is Psalms 15-17.

A Word for Our Kids

Hey kids, as you grow up, you are going to learn what it takes to communicate in polite society. For the most part, you will be taught to communicate with others in pleasantries and shallow, surface dialogue. Here is the great thing about your relationship with God as you grow up. While He certainly deserves your respect, you are allowed to drop the charade that all is right with your world. When life seems broken, you are allowed to fall on your knees, cry out to God, and tell Him how it is, even questioning Him about it. God is big enough to handle your emotions, so feel free to pray them.
