Today’s reading is Philippians 3-4.
Paul talks about rejoicing 9 times in just 4 chapters in Philippians. And when you think about it, why not? Jesus had saved him. Sure, he was suffering, but the worst thing they could do is kill him and send him directly into the arms of Jesus. That’s pretty good. If they didn’t kill him, he was going to be able to keep serving the one he loved. That’s not bad either. Life is really great when you put God in the beginning because no matter what else happens or what anyone does to you, they can’t take God away. And that is the one thing that matters. Praise the Lord!
Tomorrow’s reading is Colossians 1-2.
A Word for Our Kids
Hey kids, Paul encouraged the Philippians to keep their eyes on him and on other people who walk according to the proper example. Let’s face it, you’re going to meet lots of people as you grow up. More than that, you are going to see lots of people on tv and hear lots of people on the radio. They are all going to be competing to be the people you look up to and emulate. Remember, the only people worth imitating are people who imitate Jesus. Find those kinds of people and look up to them.
