Today’s reading is Hebrews 12-13.
How did Jesus endure the suffering of the cross? The joy set before Him. But what joy? I mean, didn’t He have joy when He was reigning in heaven before He came to the earth as a sacrifice? Wouldn’t He have had joy anyway if He had just stayed in heaven and left us to our sins? What joy? The joy of our salvation. Wow! Jesus was able to endure the cross by keeping before His eyes the joy He would have over our salvation. What a Savior!
Monday’s reading is John 1-2.
A Word for Our Kids
Hey kids, did you catch what the Hebrew writer said about your leaders? “Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.” Do you know who that is in your life? Yep, you guessed it. Your parents. Let your parents do their job with joy by giving them the benefit of the doubt, recognizing that they care for your souls, and respecting they will have to give account for you. Make your parents job easier by listening to their loving counsel, direction, and instruction. It really is for your good.
