Today’s reading is Galatians 1-2.

Do you want to undercut the heart of the gospel? Then ignore Paul in Galatians 1:10. The whole point of God’s gospel is that we can stop hunting for approval. Instead, turn to Jesus and let God bring us to approval through the sacrifice of His Son. Man’s approval is fleeting and ultimately meaningless. God’s approval is powerful and profound, and He paid the unfathomable price to give it to us. Don’t let the fear of men turn you away from your awe of God. Whose approval are you seeking today?

Monday’s reading is Galatians 3-4.

A Word for Our Kids

Hey kids, many people argue against the gospel, claiming Jesus can’t possibly have died and been resurrected. The trouble for them is there are a couple of amazing events that simply can’t be denied and, frankly, can’t be explained in any other way than to accept the testimony found in the New Testament. One is, of course, the empty tomb. But another is the conversion of Paul, as  Galatians 1:23 says, “He who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” Paul didn’t go from poor to powerful in this change. In fact, quite the opposite. Something happened on the road to Damascus to take a man on the fast track to influence and power among the Jews to the side of the despised who would ultimately be executed for his faith. It is hard to explain that in any way other than his own testimony that he saw the resurrected Savior. Believe it and let it change you as well.
