Today’s reading is Matthew 23-24.

The scribes and Pharisees did “all their deeds to be seen by others.” That is obviously the wrong way to approach life. But what is the right way? We might be tempted to say that the right way to live is to do all our deeds to be seen by God. Of course, there is truth to that. However, I think the better guideline is to do all our deeds so God will be seen by others. That is putting God in the very beginning of our lives. Who will be on display in your life today?

Tomorrow’s reading is Matthew 25-26.

A Word for Our Kids

Hey kids, did you catch that Jesus said we should call no man “Father” on earth because only God is our Father? Did that confuse you? I completely understand. Jesus is not saying you aren’t allowed to call your dad, “Father.” He is not even saying you aren’t allowed to view a mentor as a father-figure. He is talking about giving someone a spiritually religious title of Father. That honor should be reserved for God. He is the one and only Father of all and reserves that honor for Himself.
