Today’s reading is Matthew 17-18.
When you are the lost sheep, though the 99 are in the fold, our Good Shepherd leaves them to seek you out. Do you see what that means? God puts you in the beginning. He puts you first. How can we not put a God, a Shepherd, like that in the beginning of all we are and do? Praise the Lord!
Tomorrow’s reading is Matthew 19-20.
A Word for Our Kids
Hey kids, can I encourage you to start developing a key discipleship habit right now? Forgiveness. Did you catch that story about the man whose king forgave him a huge, huge debt. That was actually about 200,000 years worth of wages the king forgave him. But then the forgiven servant found a man who owed him about 1/3 of a year’s salary. He not only refused to forgive the man, but to even be patient with him though the man begged for it. When the king found out, he rescinded the forgiveness he had originally given and cast the first servant into prison. Forgiveness is not easy, but I encourage you to start practicing now. When someone asks for forgiveness, grant it to them, then let the matter go and move on in a positive relationship with them. Trust me, if you develop the habit now, it will be easier as you get older. If you don’t you will always be fighting an uphill battle.
