Today’s reading is Matthew 11-12.

How can you know if God is in your beginning? Look at what’s at the end. That is, consider what behavior and action is coming out. When God is at the root of your heart, then godliness is at the fruit of your action. The profound point to understand is while we often try to work directly on our fruit, we simply can’t change the fruit. Whatever seed got planted, whatever root is there, that fruit will out. Work on the root. Put God in the beginning. Then, and only then, will the fruit change.

Tomorrow’s reading is Matthew 13-14.

A Word for Our Kids

Hey kids, can you imagine being one of Jesus’s siblings? What do you think that would be like? Do you realize that while none of us can become one of Jesus’s earthly siblings, we can all become His spiritual siblings? When we let God be our Father, we become siblings with His Son Jesus. Who are Jesus’s brothers and sisters? Those who do the will of His Father. As you grow up, focus on that. Let God be your Father, let Him direct your life, and you will find Jesus as your brother. How cool is that?
