Today’s reading is Matthew 7-8.
Perhaps one of the most misused passages in all Scripture is in today’s reading. “Judge not, that you be not judged.” What was Jesus’s point? Isn’t it so much easier to put God at everyone else’s beginning, but a lot harder to put Him at the beginning of all we are and do? Jesus’s point is before we try to shove God into everyone else’s beginning, we need to put Him at ours. Only then will we have the proper perspective to help others put God in the beginning. Where are you putting God today?
Tomorrow’s reading is Matthew 9-10.
A Word for Our Kids
Hey kids, I hope you heard the Golden Rule today. At least, that is what we usually call it. Jesus didn’t call it that. What did He say? “Whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them.” How do you want your siblings to treat you? How do you want your friends to treat you? How do you want your classmates to treat you? If you were the teacher, how would you want your students to treat you? If you were the parent, how would you want your children to treat you? Then act like that for them.
